WILDLY
SUSTAINABLE.
The winery was the first in Chile to be certified 100% sustainable by Wines of Chile. All farming and winemaking practices are specifically tailored to nurture the unique attributes of each vineyard, the environment, and the local community. The results of this careful stewardship are evident in the consistently high quality found in every bottle of Root:1 wine.
THE VINEYARDS
Chile’s optimal climate allows for sustainable practices in the vineyard, but its geography is what truly makes this country unique. Chile’s isolation, protected by the Andes Mountains to the east and the cool Pacific Ocean to the west, has allowed it to remain one of the few regions in the world where ungrafted European rootstock survived, unaffected by Phylloxera.
MAIPO VALLEY
The sun-drenched Maipo Valley is home to world-renowned Cabernet Sauvignon with rich color and full body. Tradition meets modernity here in the home of Chilean viticulture.
COLCHAGUA VALLEY
Carmenere flourishes in the warm climate and cooling breezes of the Colchagua valley. Like the Maipo Valley, it is located between the massive Andes Mountains and Pacific’s low Coastal Mountains.
CASABLANCA VALLEY
The cooler coastal vineyards of Casablanca are perfectly suited for Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Maritime breezes keep temperatures cool, while daytime sun encourages a lengthy growing season.
